Millennium Aesthetics

Most fillers on the market are made from Hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a naturally occurring molecule found in all skin and soft tissues throughout the body. Hyaluronic acid fillers are manufactured into a clear, sterile gel ready for injection into the skin. They usually contain a local anaesthetic agent to make injections more comfortable.

Hyaluronic acid fillers have grown tremendously in popularity as they are a great tool in the rejuvenation portfolio. In addition, if required, the results can be added to with more filler or toned down/deleted by use of a dissolver called Hyalase. This makes HA dermal filler a very versatile, pleasing and popular treatment amongst both patients and clinicians alike for its ease of use and great, buildable results.

How do dermal fillers work?

When injected, the hyaluronic acid filler helps to attract water into the skin, helping to (re)volumise and hydrate the skin. It also helps to support the skin through its effect on collagen and elastin fibres, which are responsible for keeping our skin firm and supple.

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers can be used to:

  • correct or enhance facial contours, e.g. cheeks, temples, jaw, chin, nose-to-mouth lines, marionette lines, etc
  • definecorrect or enhance lips
  • soften lines/wrinkles
  • tighten and restore volume, e.g. face/hands/neck/decolletage
  • improve the tone, texture as well as hydration of the skin

The most significant results are seen immediately but results will refine and improve even further over the next 2-4 weeks.

There is usually minimal downtime and results on average last from 6-18 months, depending on factors such as product used, treatment site, lifestyle factors and the individual. It is common for areas to show some swelling and/or bruising for a few days before the filler settles into its final position.

Tear Trough Fillers with Dr Robina Jan

Are your eyes revealing more than you’d like? Despite adequate rest, do you battle persistent dark circles and a sunken look beneath your eyes which no amount of concealer can hide? It’s time to bid farewell to weary eyes (and that concealer!) – embrace a more revitalised and vibrant gaze with tear trough fillers.

At Millennium Aesthetics, we recognize the significance of the under-eye region in projecting vitality and approachability. As we age, the area beneath our eyes undergoes changes that can leave us looking tired and aged. Over time, the fat pads around the eyes thin out, and the bone structure supporting them diminishes, creating a sunken or hollowed appearance under the eyes. This natural process can make us appear older than we feel, impacting our confidence and how we present ourselves to the world. Tear trough filler offers a tailored solution to refresh your look and restore your self-esteem.

Under-eye filler involves delicately infusing a low-density dermal filler into the under-eye hollows, targeting the depleted orbital fat pad.

This precise intervention yields immediate results, breathing new life into your appearance without resorting to surgical measures.

Dr. Jan refines tear trough filler treatments for her patients further by seamlessly integrating polynucleotides (and/or Tixel resurfacing treatment), revolutionising the way we address under-eye concerns. This groundbreaking synergy not only prepares the delicate under-eye skin but also optimises treatment outcomes for enhanced efficacy and prolonged benefits.

Before & After

Dermal fillers are primarily made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in your skin that adds volume and hydration.

Dermal fillers typically last between 6 to 18 months+, depending on the type of filler and the area treated.

Yes, dermal fillers are safe when administered by a qualified health professional. At Millennium Aesthetics, we use premium dermal fillers that undergo rigorous testing and have a well-known safety profile.  In addition, we use dermal fillers that have had a good reputation of achieving flawless results and that our patients have been happy with over the years.

Side effects are minimal and may include slight swelling, redness, or bruising, which typically subside within a few days. It’s worth noting that individuals taking aspirin or other blood thinners may experience increased bruising risk. However, serious complications like vessel blockage/tissue necrosis are exceedingly rare and can be mitigated by consulting with a qualified health professional prior to treatment.

The cost of dermal fillers varies based on the amount used as well as the area treated – typically they generally range from £165 to £665 per treatment area at Millennium Aesthetics.

While there have been rare reports of temporary swelling or inflammation at the injection site following COVID-19 vaccination, it is generally safe to proceed with dermal filler treatments. However, it’s advisable to wait at least 2-3 weeks before/after receiving the vaccine before undergoing cosmetic procedures to allow any potential side effects to resolve.

It’s recommended to wait until you have fully recovered from any illness or until the immune response to a vaccine has subsided before getting dermal fillers. Typically, waiting at least 2-3 weeks after being significantly unwell or receiving a vaccine is advisable to minimize the risk of complications and ensure optimal results.

Dermal fillers restore volume, while muscle relaxing injections relax the muscles to help reduce wrinkles.

Yes, hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers if needed as long as you don’t have an allergy to bee/wasp stings (which contain hyaluronidase).  It is recommended from time to time to dissolve lip fillers if you have had them several times already and to start afresh (please enquire regarding our filler dissolving service)

Most patients can resume activities immediately, with minor side effects typically lasting a few days.  It is advisable to avoid makeup

Protect your skin from sun damage, stay hydrated and consider periodic touch-up treatments for maintenance.  Duration of fillers is dependent on individual factors.
